Orchard Fostering is Ireland’s leading independent fostering agency, established in 2008. At Orchard Fostering we work in partnership with TUSLA and recruit, train, and support foster carers for the varying types of foster care placements including long-term foster care.

Long-term foster care, or sometimes referred to as ‘permanent fostering’, involves a child being cared for by a foster family for a number of years and may continue until the child reaches eighteen years of age. Long-term foster care can happen where the courts order a full-time care order or a care order that lasts several years. The permanent one-to-one support that a long-term foster carer can provide can be life changing for a young person, providing security and stability.
