Orchard Fostering was established in 2008 by social work professionals who had extensive experience working with foster carers and vulnerable children; they adopted a family ethos in running the business knowing all the staff and carers personally.
This ethos has been continued and today we are one of the leading independent fostering agencies in Ireland, working in partnership with Tusla to provide children and young people with a positive care experience.
Over the years
We have grown from the original owners to a staff of over 30. The head office is based in Dublin but we provide foster care to children and young people across the Republic of Ireland.
We provide foster care and to a wide range of children and young people of all ages and cultures with a variety of different needs.

Rainy days can feel very long when everyone is stuck indoors ☔️🏡
A Rainy Day Jar is a simple way to have a few ideas ready when the inevitable “what can we do?” arrives. Get everyone involved in writing activities on little pieces of paper, pop them into a jar and pick one whenever the weather keeps you inside.
You could include baking something together, building a blanket fort, choosing a board game, having an indoor picnic or putting on a family film 🎲🍿
Even better, let your foster child add their own ideas to the jar so there is always something in there they are excited to choose.
